International Animal Rights Conference - Sept 6-9, 2018

International Animal Rights Conference - Sept 6-9, 2018

The eighth International Animal Rights Conference, held annually in Luxembourg since 2011, will take place this September 6th through 9th.

The event is organized by Save Animals asbl, a legal luxembourgish organization comprised of German and Luxembourg animal rights activists.

Considering the nature of the conference the venue is particularly interesting. The Kulturfabrik in Esch was the community slaugherhouse for almost a century, before ending operations in 1979. Since then the "culture factory" has been transformed to a culture, arts and sustainability centre. The conference will include: over 30 international AR speakers, networking and educational workshops, presentations and discussions. There will also be stalls representing various animal rights and vegan groups.

All content provided at the conference will given exclusively in English.

The venue, Esch-sur-Alzette, is approximately 30 kilometers from the Luxembourg Airport and requires a two-step bus train journey to reach the town. Of cource a car rental is also an option.

Accommodation within Esch includes several hotels and a youth hostel, but --what might be-- the best and most attactive option is camping. The organizers have made arrangements with the Camping Gaalgebierg in Esch for as little as 5 EURs per night. Be warned you will either need to bring your own tent or share accomodation in one of several large tents provided by the IRAC. A free shuttle bus will provide transportation to and from the conference.

Each day vegan meals, mostly organic, will be offered at the conference for the modest price of 1-4 EURs. For all meals, gluten-free or soy-free is an option.

For futher information, consult the IARC website.
